Flying Over Virginia

Amazingly, the hills and dips of the Appalachians look from 34,000 feet exactly like the raised topographical globes sitting on every elementary school teacher's desk. The shadows and light, especially as interspersed with yellowing birches, prove that the globe-makers designed their product from the window of a 737.
