O' the day - 2019.11.11

As so many are, thinking today about our veterans and what they've contributed to our society and way of life. It could have been so different if I had grown up somewhere like North Korea or China or the former USSR - military was forced upon you from birth forward, and had the might (and right) to create your daily fear. Here, we have the choice and the privilege to serve, or not to serve, depending on what we think right for ourselves. Life could have been so much harder if only for a geographical change - we don't have any say in our birth, but I'm eternally grateful for mine in the US, warts and all.

O' the day - 2019.11.08

Getting back into (hopefully daily?) writing is a little like visiting a graveyard - you see the little deaths along the way of the pieces you've written previously, but there's hope in knowing you're still alive. Here's to becoming creative again and doing a bit of self-reflection each day.

O' the day - 2008.11.04

"I'm in a hurry to get things done
I rush and rush until life's no fun
All I really have to do is live and die
But I'm in a hurry and don't know why."

Not my words, but could have been.
